Memorial Lap Quilt
This quilt was made from clothing of another memorial quilt that I
made. We added a black print with dots to create the pattern, and my

of each four patch on the quilt (see the second photo)
This quilt was
completed July 2004.
"The quilts were beyond what I had hoped for
- original, creative and thoughtful. Both were heirloom quality. Pam is a
sensitive and caring person. She listened to me and the result was just
what I had hoped it would be." -- Frances (Maryland)

"I love the lap quilt! The heart pattern
stitch work is exactly what I had in mind. It is just the right size to
curl up under and read a good book or watch TV. It is very therapeutic for
me to feel the fabric, to run my fingers across the threads that my
husband wore. I feel a real connection to him when I wrap myself in the
warmth of my quilt. My children have all expressed having the same feeling
with their quilts. Pam, you have done a wonderful job turning everyday
clothing into beautiful, useful quilts. Thank you." -- Larain

Memorial Clothing Quilt
My client sent me clothing that belonged to her mother and asked me to
create a quilt in memory of her. Her mom's trademark were her jeans, so we
used embroidery from her jeans for the center square, then used the jeans
pockets and light/dark jeans to create a more traditional quilt design.
Fabrics used in the quilt came from: jeans, shirts, apron, a table doily,
pajama's and dresses. She sent me sheets to use for the back of the quilt
and the binding.
The top photo shows the top of the quilt, the next photo shows the
quilting on the back of the quilt, and the bottom photo shows the label on
the back of the quilt. The #1 Nana was embroidered on a sweatshirt my
client sent me. I added the other wording, then attached this to the back
of the quilt as the label. My client asked for the label to be placed in
the upper left corner of the back of the quilt so she could see this at
night as she was falling asleep. Measures 80" x 100". Completed
May 2002.
The Quilting Cottage did the long arm quilting on this quilt.
"I wanted to tell you, too, how much I
enjoyed working with you. This project was so fun and far exceeded my
expectations and hopes! I just love how careful you were with the quilt
piecing--the way all of the red-dress squares have the same hourglass
pattern in them. That is just wonderful attention to detail! Something I
just love, but never expected to find from someone else doing the work for
me." -- Casey
